Ian Wright thinks Arsenal transfer target Kaoru Mitoma will go down as ‘one of the signings of the season’ at Brighton.
The Arsenal legend praised Brighton for pulling out ‘another gem’ from the bag, as Kaoru Mitoma is producing the goods that could fire his club into the Champions League.
Ironically enough, it was Leandro Trossard’s exit from the Amex Stadium to Arsenal that allowed the Japan star to earn more minutes under Roberto De Zerbi.
Over the course of the campaign, he has seven goals and five assists from his 22 Premier League matches, including a goal contribution of some sort from his last five.
It’s another story to tell for Brighton and how they pluck out these stars from thin air, with Wright lauding both the player and the club, as he told MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions (05/04/23 at 11:25 pm).
“£2.8 million? You look at the way Mitoma is playing and he’s probably going to go down as one of the signings of the season,” said Wright.

“The way it has gone for him. The way Brighton’s season has gone. The impact he has had on the team and the league.
“Good luck to them. They have been doing this for years now, Brighton, with their recruitment, so it doesn’t surprise anybody what they are doing. They have found another player. They have found another gem.”

Ben White and Leandro Trossard have already been two players that have swapped the colours of Brighton for Arsenal.
The duo have had an outstanding impact and are weeks away from guiding the club to the Premier League title.
But could they add another Brighton talent to their ranks? Well, 90Min claimed back in January that Mikel Arteta’s side are keen on Mitoma.
