Arsenal FC v Crystal Palace - Premier League

Emmanuel Petit says ‘nothing can stop’ Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka from being ‘one of the most prolific and wonderful players in the world’, as he told Premier League Productions (19/03/23 at 4:10 pm).

On Sunday, Saka was the star of the show as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal brushed aside relegation-threatened Crystal Palace by beating the London side 4-1.

England’s rising star netted a brace and assisted in front of the Arsenal faithful to help his team open an eight-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table – and then proceeded to mention Liverpool when sending Pep Guardiola’s side a message.

That’s 12 Premier League goals and ten assists for the season for Saka – after 28 games. He also becomes the first player of the campaign to hit double digits in both departments.

It shouldn’t really be a surprise that the 21-year-old is cooking in such a fashion because he has been flying like this for a number of years now.

Nonetheless, when Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit discussed Saka, he shared that he is a fan of the ‘mature’ forward.

“He is still improving this guy (Saka),” said Petit. “He shows so much character, especially after the European tournament when he received so much criticism (racist abuse).

“He’s so young, and again, he’s acting like a mature and experienced guy. He scored how many goals and assists again this season?!

“I don’t see any barriers or anything that can stop him from being one of the most prolific and wonderful players in the world.”

SAKA BECOMING AN ARSENAL LEGEND

He will become an Arsenal legend one day, but it will be fast-tracked if Saka can carry his side towards their current path where they will be champions of England in May.

This is unexpected, not even the most ardent of Arsenal fans thought that they would be cooking in such a fashion after missing out on the Premier League’s top four last season.

This isn’t a case of everything around Arsenal faltering, but the team itself making outrageous improvements during the past 12 months.

And if they see through these next six weeks, then it won’t be too long before the likes of Saka become Arsenal legends.
