NSYNC’s Joey Fatone has responded to rumors of the boy band’s reunion tour in 2024 in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun.
Joey, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick reunited on stage for the first time in nearly 20 years at MTV’s Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey, on September 12.

They then dropped their first song, Better Place, on September 29, which will be part of the upcoming film Trolls Band Together.
Rumors swirled that the boy band would be performing at the upcoming Super Bowl in February, but that was quickly dispelled once Usher was announced as the headliner.
Now, Joey, 46, is setting the record straight on whether NSYNC will be reuniting for a big performance or tour.
“We got ushered out of doing the Super Bowl with Usher. It happens, but honestly, I think it became a rumor. Somebody threw it out there,” the singer told The U.S. Sun exclusively while promoting his partnership with Heluva Good! Dip.
“I don’t think it was ever really 100 percent a done deal or specific.
“So I think that they were already probably talking to Usher about that and when that came about, I’m sure people were like, ‘Why not NSYNC?'”
He went on to say that right now, the group has “no idea” what the future holds.
“It’s one of those things of we’re excited just to have the song come out and see what happens. So, you never know.
“Never say never, but we’re trying to figure out what is really going to happen and didn’t know honestly the magnitude of how responsive everybody has been,” Joey confessed.
“It’s been amazing, overwhelming, humble, and nice.”
BRUSHING UP
When asked if the group is ready to show off their dance moves 20 years later, Joey joked that they need to hit the gym before any of that happens.
“I know my body’s definitely a hundred percent rusty, so if we’re ever to go out on tour and do anything else, I definitely have to condition my big butt to get in the gym and do something about it,” he insisted.
“My knee hurts. I know Chris’ shoulders jacked up. I’m sure J[T]’s back is messed up. Lance, I don’t know. And JC’s just probably the bionic man. He’s fermenting himself in something so he’ll be fine.”
All in all, the Brooklyn native said that he’s “going to ride the wave” and “see what happens” since nothing is set in stone.
He admitted: “The greatest thing about this right now in my life is I don’t even know. And that’s the freaking truth in the sense of we’re going to find out, either we’re going to go do a tour, either we may do maybe another song, we may even shoot a video.
“We may even do nothing…I can only speak for myself at the moment. It’s very humbling. It’s a beautiful thing.”

SITTING BACK
The Dancing With the Stars alum told The U.S. Sun that being part of NSYNC doesn’t define him or change anything for him.
Joey explained: “It just puts me on a different level in the sense of having fun, hanging out with my boys now again and doing music and doing things that I love.
“Other than that, I’m still going to be doing shows. I’m still hosting stuff and I’m still promoting stuff for Heluva Good!
“So no doesn’t matter what, it doesn’t change me or define me. And that’s so much fun about this that I can throw stuff on the wall and see what sticks.”
The best part about getting the group back together, Joey revealed, is that there were “no hiccups.”
“All fell into place, which is crazy. Oddly enough, there was no hiccups. I know people looking for hiccups or something, like, it literally was, ‘Hey man, we’re doing this. I got this idea. Here’s a song. I love for you to hear it.’
“‘Oh my God, it sounds good. Hey, do you want to record on it? Sounds great. Alright, cool,'” Joey recalled.
DIFFERENT KIND OF TOUR
The actor is currently starring in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, which hit theaters on September 8.
Like many actors and writers during this time, Joey is waiting to go back on set once the SAG strike wraps up negotiations.
For now, he’s gearing up to meet a bunch of fans during the Heluva Good! Dip’s the No Team Required Tailgate Tour.
The first stop will be in Hoboken, New Jersey, on October 5, followed by stops in Austin, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Heluva Good! will donate $25 for every person that attends.
Joey shared: “What I love about Heluva Good! is they don’t take themselves too serious…I think that’s why they teamed up with me.
“I love to have fun. I don’t take myself too serious as well, but also I do take food serious…I’m just a huge fan of dips. For me, French Onion, any dip.”
At the different locations, fans will get to experience endless dip sampling opportunities, flavorful food pairings, and the chance to win a variety of prizes.
