Ian Wright has stated that ‘it’s not quite happened’ for Celtic hero Odsonne Edouard at Crystal Palace as the pressure piles on Patrick Vieira, as he told Premier League Productions (13/03/23 at 2:55 pm).
Shot-shy Palace haven’t managed to hit the target during their last three Premier League games and they are winless in ten as an unexpected relegation battle is now on the table for the London club.
The issue for Edouard, who has three Premier League goals to his name this season, is that he can’t even earn starts under Vieira, with his last coming during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in February.

Only last week, during Palace’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, Edouard wasn’t even brought off the bench, which is worrying for the player, especially given that his team are crying out for goals.
In the colours of Celtic, Edouard made himself a legend, scoring 87 goals in 179 matches, but hitting the back of the net is hard to come by in England’s top flight for the 25-year-old.
That was touched upon by former England striker and Match of the Day pundit Wright, who spoke about Palace’s struggles up front.
“You look at Palace, are they going to give him (Vieira) the money to spend?” asked Wright. “Are they waiting for the summer? Hopefully, Patrick will still be there in the summer because, up to this point, they haven’t made a significant signing.

“For a start, like most teams, they need a goalscorer. You need to find somebody who can take those chances. They thought it was going to happen with Odsonne Edouard, it’s not quite happened.”

WHAT NEXT FOR EDOUARD?
These next few weeks and months will be big for Edouard because if he can’t get things going, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is sold in the summer.
