TikTok has become famous for many things since it launched worldwide over four years ago: dance videos, comedy sketches, and, of course, propagating conspiracy theories. The short-form video platform is known as a hub of conspiracies, from celeb gossip to whacky philosophical takes such as the Lucky Boy Theory.
The latest ‘hot take’ being propagated by TikTok users is that British actor Orlando Bloom has been arrested. Just a heads up for those concerned fans, Bloom hasn’t been.
Let’s take a look at where this rumor started and why a mix-up over ‘Orlando’ actors has some fans seriously confused.
TikTok conspiracy has Orlando Bloom fans worried he’s been arrested
A TikTok user has kicked off the new year with a number of celebrity conspiracy theories that are going viral. The video in question, which alleges Orlando Bloom has been “arrested,” has over 2.7 million views as of publication date.
While the user suggests that these are just conspiracies (it is used as one of their video’s hashtags), they have also included references to recent news events, such as Andrew Tate’s arrest in December. This has some TikTok users confused over which allegations are real and which are just conspiracies.

No, Orlando Bloom hasn’t been arrested
For those worried that Orlando Bloom has been arrested, the Elizabethtown actor very much hasn’t been. The TikTok video has confused Orlando Bloom with That’s So Raven actor Orlando Brown.

This mix-up was quickly pointed out by one TikTok user in the comments, stating that the video’s creator had Orlando Bloom confused with Orlando Brown. The original video creator acknowledged this confusion, writing back: “Yeah I corrected the typo, I was too tired to notice it.”
Orlando Brown’s arrest causes actor mix-up
On Thursday, December 22, Orlando Brown was taken into custody after the Lima Police Department received a call about a fight, a police spokesperson told The New York Post. The 35-year-old remained in custody as of December 27, allegedly facing an aggravated menacing charge.
Brown rocketed to fame in the early 2000s starring in Disney Channel shows. He started out as the voice of Sticky Webb in The Proud Family, followed by Cornelius Fillmore in Fillmore! But Brown was best known for his performance as Eddie in That’s So Raven. He has not acted on screen for over a decade.
The viral TikTok video is not the first time Orlando Bloom’s name has been thrown into reports of Orlando Brown’s arrest. In December, a Twitter user shared an image of Brown’s mug shot along with the caption: “Imagine getting arrested in Fort Wayne and you meet Orlando Bloom in your holding cell LMFAO.”
Orlando Bloom remains free and happy living in California
Hailing from Canterbury, Kent, British actor Orlando Bloom has swapped the ancient English city for California in recent years. Bloom moved to Los Angeles in 2017, two years later swapping out Beverly Hills for the quieter Montecito, where he lives with his partner, Katy Perry.
The actor and musician have been engaged since 2019 and welcomed their first child together, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020.
On January 2, Orlando Bloom wished his fans and friends a happy new year in an Instagram post. Bloom stated that he was “living the dream,” as he stood on a windy beach. So, it’s pretty safe to say Orlando Bloom hasn’t been arrested, despite what TikTok might lead you to think.
