Sam Allardyce has suggested that no manager at Tottenham Hotspur can really and truly turn their fortunes around.
Since Julian Nagelsmann has been sacked in place of Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, he has been heavily linked with taking over the Spurs job, with names like Mauricio Pochettino and Arne Slot also touted for the vacancy.
But Sam Allardyce is of the option that regardless of whichever manager decides to take the Tottenham Hotspur job, it is in the DNA of the club not to be successful.

The expectation amongst the Lilywhites supporters is to bring in a head coach who can build a project at the club, while their hope remains that they play beautiful football in the process.
And of course, it goes without saying that any tactician that comes into the job and ends Tottenham’s 15-year trophy drought will be hailed as a God instantly.

But according to Sam Allardyce on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, regardless of whether Tottenham appoint Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino or Arne Slot, success is simply not in the club’s DNA.
“He’s [Antonio Conte] right! He didn’t say it the right way in terms of his explosion but Tottenham are Tottenham, no matter what manager you’re going to bring because it’s proven. All the top managers recently have worked there.”
“Pochettino is renowned as a top manager now but he did it at Tottenham. Jose Mourinho, winning trophies everywhere but not at Tottenham and obviously, Antonio Conte. He blitzed the Premier League when he was at Chelsea. Then, he went and did it again at Italy.”
In some ways, there is truth in what Sam Allardyce is saying, as Tottenham simply do not have a winning culture and often do not hand their manager with the tools to instil one as well.
