Tottenham manager target Oliver Glasner struggling for results

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Oliver Glasner but the Eintracht Frankfurt boss is currently struggling for results in Germany.

Spurs have been linked with a host of managers ever since it became clear that Antonio Conte would be leaving.

One of the major links has surrounded Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner.

Bild claimed in March that Tottenham have made an approach to Glasner’s representatives to discuss a move to London.

That came after the Daily Mail suggested earlier in March that Glasner was an option for Tottenham.

There are major doubts over Glasner’s future as Eintracht Frankfurt boss having so far failed to sign a new contract.

Yet whether Tottenham actually make their move is up in the air as Glasner struggles for results with Frankfurt…

Frankfurt were beaten 3-1 on Saturday afternoon as they fell to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side.

The result leaves Frankfurt seventh in the Bundesliga table, which isn’t a disgrace – but recent form has been a huge problem.

Since beating Werder Bremen 2-0 on February 18th, Frankfurt have been floundering.

Glasner has now won just one of his last nine competitive games as Frankfurt boss.

Two points from games against Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig came between Champions League defeats to Napoli.

Frankfurt went into the international break with a 2-0 defeat at Union Berlin and it hasn’t really improved since coming back.

A draw with VfL Bochum was followed by a DFB Pokal win over Union Berlin, only to then be comfortably beaten by Leverkusen.

Glasner and Frankfurt are completely out of sorts right now and look like a shadow of the team that won the Europa League last season.

Maybe it’s down to Glasner’s own future causing some confusion. Maybe rumours surrounding out-of-contract duo Evan Ndicka and Daichi Kamada are denting Frankfurt.

Either way, this poor form has come at a bad time as Frankfurt risk missing out on the top six – and Glasner risks missing out on the Tottenham job.
