A mysterious metal sphere found on a beach in Japan has given rise to interesting theories across social media, with some of them establishing that it’s a mooring buoy while the authorities haven’t identified it.
Lately, TikTok users have been deeply immersed in speculations surrounding certain unidentified objects and strange happenings such as the alleged spy balloons flying over the U.S. and even the recent rumor that claims China found unchartered land covered in dinosaurs.
Even though the metal sphere washed up on Enshu Beach in Hamamatsu City in Japan is real, people have taken the liberty to guess all sorts of things, including a vehicle carrying aliens!

The said object is reportedly being described as an “iron ball” with a diameter of 1.5 meters, reports Vice.
After being informed by a local woman about the mysterious sphere, the officials restricted access to the area encompassing a 200-meter radius. While the investigation is underway, no other details have been revealed.
Japanese news outlet Asahi News claimed that the sphere is rusted and has a protrusion resembling a handle that could be used to hook to another object.
Vice reports, another news channel, FNN, claimed that the object appeared to be hollow when they ran an X-ray scan on it.
Reportedly, the officials were positive about the sphere being non-explosive and the restrictions to access were listed by 4 pm.
What is a mooring buoy?
Going by the picture of the mysterious sphere circulating on Twitter and its description, many have established that it’s only a mooring buoy.
A mooring buoy, which is generally heavier than standard buoys, is used to moore shops in deep oceanic areas. Mooring is an act of making a ship or a boat move faster with anchors.
In a mooring buoy, an heavier weight is attached to its bottom, which acts like an anchor, while the sphere stays afloat on the water.
The metal sphere found in Japan is being compared to a mooring buoy by many owing to its physical appearance.
However, this hasn’t stopped others from coming up with their own theories to explain its existence and sudden appearance.
Mysterious object results in wild theories
As always, Internet users are using the metal sphere sighting in Japan to present their made-up theories about what it could be, despite the X-ray allegedly proving it’s hollow.
Some social media users were quick to assume that the metal sphere could consist of aliens, thanks to the UFO shootings in the U.S. that left many wondering if President Joe had confirmed extraterrestrial beings.
Meanwhile, others joked that it could be a Vegeta capsule and some predicted that Goku would emerge from it.
But, some users could tell from the look of the metal sphere that it could possibly be a mooring buoy, as opposed to what the wild theories claim.
