Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne expressed his delight on his Instagram story for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye after he secured his 100th international cap for Senegal.
Aliou Cisse’s side were one of the sides to impress at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, before getting booted out by England during the knockout stages, but on Friday, they smoked Mozambique 5-1, with Idrissa Gueye playing the entire match during a landmark moment for the player.
In England, the 33-year-old has represented both Aston Villa and Everton during his career, just like Lucas Digne.

But, what’s even more impressive is that, from teams in France, the duo have also repped the colours of Paris Saint-Germian and Lille.
Nonetheless, that’s on the domestic stage, and this is the international set-up, as Irdrissa Gueye reached one of the proudest moments of his career and Digne posted the following message via his Instagram story to the player.
“Congratulations my brother,” said Digne. “You said you didn’t come on vacation, didn’t you?!” laughed the Villa man.

DIGNE AT ASTON VILLA SINCE EVERTON EXIT
Well, one thing is for sure, the French left-back isn’t in the danger Gueye finds himself in at Goodison Park and that’s the prospect of relegation.
Sean Dyche is starting to work his magic and pick up the points on Merseyside, including their 2-2 draw at Chelsea before the international break, which included a late goal from Ellis Simms, who was praised by Michael Owen.
But whilst these next few weeks will be very nervy for the Toffees, there is an outside chance that Unai Emery’s Aston Villa can get into Europe, although, it’s a big ask.
Interestingly enough, after Digne signed for Villa from Everton last January, the club dipped into that very same market 12 months later to bring in another left-sided fullback.
This time it was Alex Moreno, who has had an outstanding start, and there is now talk that Digne’s time under Emery could be up.
