Jose Enrique has posted on his Instagram story that Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, will join Manchester United instead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The former Liverpool left-back thinks Erik ten Hag’s side, who recently won the League Cup at Wembley, are in a ‘much better position’ than their old rivals.
This comes after claims that financially-hit Barcelona have been slapped with a transfer ban for the forthcoming summer, that’s if they can’t raise £178 million, if they can’t, then it does increase de Jong’s chances of leaving.

Last summer, the 25-year-old was the subject of strong interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United seemingly gaining more traction than those from Anfield for the £65 million star.
Despite all those rumours, de Jong, who was recently at Old Trafford as Barcelona were dumped out of the Europa League by Manchester United, stayed put and he is now edging closer to helping Xavi beat Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid to the La Liga title.
Liverpool need midfielders for the forthcoming summer more than anyone else, and whilst Enrique would like de Jong on Merseyside, he doesn’t think that will happen, as he posted the following message on his IG story.

“I actually believe they (Manchester United) will get him now because of Barcelona’s economic situation,” said Enrique. “And Manchester (United) is in a much better position than last season as well.”

LIVERPOOL V MANCHESTER UNITED
Given the weight of fixtures, its history, its power and the eyes it draws in, it wouldn’t be a surprise if de Jong is watching Sunday’s heavy battle between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
It was a sweet victory for ten Hag in his first taste of this fixture at Old Trafford earlier on in the season, and the already-popular manager at Manchester United, will only increase his status with his own fans if he secures the double.
Manchester United are the ones bang in form, whereas their rivals are having a season to forget, although, four clean sheets in their last four Premier League game suggests this one could be pretty tasty.
