Jamie Carragher has jumped to defend David Moyes amid talk of West Ham looking to replace the Scot this summer.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Times – West Ham are planning to appoint a new manager regardless of what Moyes does between now and the end of the season, including the prospect of surviving while also winning the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Carragher believes that would be a mistake by the east Londoners.
Speaking ahead of West Ham‘s clash with Arsenal at the London Stadium earlier today, the Sky Sports pundit said: “I think he’s a top Premier League manager. There’s talk that at the end of the season they may part ways, I think that would be a mistake. I really do.
“He’s been brilliant for West Ham. I would keep David Moyes.”
We can see why Carragher is singing the praises of Moyes, as West Ham have enjoyed a memorable few years under the 59-year-old since he returned to east London.
Moyes took West Ham to the UEFA Europa League Semi-Final last season, while he has a fantastic chance to win the UEFA Europa Conference League this term.
However, we think it is time for a change.

Why West Ham should move on from David Moyes
Football is about cycles – it is very difficult for one manager to oversee an extended period of success like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.
Moyes has done a superb job at West Ham in recent times, but it very much feels as if his cycle at the London Stadium is ending.
The Scot is making some strange decisions which fans simply cannot understand, which usually signals the beginning of the end.

Pablo Fornals has been inexplicably dropped, Tomas Soucek continues to start despite struggling, and the continued selection of Thilo Kehrer is also very odd at a time where the Germany international is clearly underperforming.
The Times believe Arne Slot is an option to replace Moyes, while Michael Carrick has also been mentioned.
These are bright, young names in the world of football management, and we feel it is time for West Ham to freshen things up in the dugout by hiring one of them.
