MIRANDA Lambert has abruptly stopped a concert to scold attendees, leaving fans split on the outburst.
The country singer was caught on camera urging concertgoers who were socializing, rather than listening to her perform, to “go do it somewhere else.”
Miranda, 40, performed at Montana’s Under the Big Sky Festival on Saturday, July 13, and was less-than-thrilled with otherwise occupied members of the audience.
Fan footage was posted on TikTok, and showed the Mama’s Broken Heart singer giving the audience a piece of her mind.
“I can see your head is not turned the right way, which is this way,” she scolded as she pointed to herself.
“So, if you came to visit, you can do it somewhere else.”
She went on, “If you came to sing and hear some country music, and drink some beer and raise some hell, then we’re doing that tonight. Are we clear?”
The Tin Man crooner pointed to a section of the audience, asking, “Are we done with our drama yet?”
“Fighting is not OK,” she said sternly.
“And it’s always the girls. We get crazy! Cheers, everybody. I’m gonna wait it out.”
The footage was posted to TikTok with the caption, “Thoughts?”
And fans did not hold back in sharing how they felt.
“Miranda Lambert your M.O. really sucks! I mean at every freaking concert, you calling somebody out…. it’s getting old…. very old!” one critic complained.
“If I spend my own money to go to a show, I’ll take a nap if I feel like it…what does it matter to her?!?!” A second angry fan wondered.
“Miranda Lambert you could never make me like you,” a third person commented.
“We left. As did LOTS of the crowd,” a fan claiming to have been in attendance posted.
Miranda Lambert’s Relationship History
Miranda Lambert rose to fame in 2003, after she appeared on Nashville Star. The singer released a number of hits that put her on the map in the mainstream country world. Early in her career, she was linked to fellow country crooner Blake Shelton, whom she eventually married. The pair divorced in 2015, however, and both have moved on.
Here’s a look at Miranda’s relationship history:
Blake Shelton:
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got engaged in 2010 after several years of dating. The pair married in 2011 and stayed together until 2015.
Anderson East:
Miranda and Anderson went public with their relationship in 2016. They were together for two years, calling it quits in 2018.
Evan Felker:
Miranda and Evan, famous for being a singer in the Turnpike Troubadours, dated briefly from June to August 2018. At the time, Evan was still legally married to his estranged wife Staci Felker.
Brendan McLoughlin:
Miranda debuted her romance with Brendan in February 2019, revealing that they were married. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary in February 2021 and attended the Grammy Awards together two months later.
“Less talking, more singing,” a fifth person urged.
For as many critics as there were, Miranda had plenty of fans defending her.
“I love Miranda! She just tells it like it is! My attention is completely on her when she is performing! I guess you could say I’m obsessed,” one supporter shared.
“LET THE QUEEN SPEAK!!! Idc I love her,” a second supporter gushed.
“I wish people appreciated the music as much as they appreciate their phones and what not… enjoy the moment peeps,” a third fan said.
“Oh I adore her! Concerts were much different when I was growing up, and I applaud her!” a fourth supporter praised.
“Your paying for the experience and to WATCH THE SHOW,” a fifth commenter wrote, agreeing with Miranda.
“WE LOVE HER BECAUSE SHE’S THAT GIRL,” someone else wrote.
PRESS PAUSE
This isn’t the first time Miranda has paused a show to address the crowd, and last time was shockingly similar.
During a June 29 show in Midland, Texas, Miranda noticed rumblings in the audience.
She stopped her performance of Tin Man to ask, “Is everybody OK? Did somebody faint? Are you good? Are y’all fighting? During this song?”
“Because I will come down there and you don’t want that,” she continued.
“We’re not doing that today.”
“I’m gonna go East Texas red on your a** real quick. It ain’t worth it. Its always the girls, we always get riled up and start punching each other,” she went on.
“Dear police, can we just go ahead and remove them, that’d be great. Thank you very much.”
After the show, Miranda hopped on Instagram to lay down the law in regards to fighting at her shows.
“If you want to fight at my show, I’m all about it. Give ’em hell,” she said in a video posted on July 2.
“I’ve got five songs for you: Fastest Girl in Town, Kerosene, Little Red Wagon, Wranglers, Gun Powder & Lead. Don’t do it during Tin Man. That’s not the time.”
She continued, “I know you can hear the s**t talking ’cause it’s a ballad, but that’s not the time. So pick your times.”
Miranda winked as she concluded with, “Look at the setlist and choose wisely.”
DIFFERENT TUNE
While the award-winning musician is known for this kind of behavior, not all her shows are this way.
She recently performed a low-key set, belting out her new song Dammit Randy while strumming an acoustic guitar.
Miranda was joined on stage by Spencer Callum Jr. to sing the song, which includes lyrics that fans feel point to her current situation.
“Now that I’m gone, I’ve got your attention,” she sang at one point.
Miranda’s husband, Brendan McLoughlin, was recently spotted dancing with a group of young women at his wife’s bar, Casa Rosa.
The country singer has not otherwise spoken about the sighting and fans aren’t urging her to.
“Go ahead, Miranda,” one supporter commented, praising her lyrical ability.
“Such a great song!! Love it,” another gushed.
“LOVE this song!! It’s been on repeat!!” a third shared.
Brenda was seen at the Nashville, Tennessee, bar with a group of unidentified women.
Not long after the news broke, one of the women spotted with Brendan set the record straight in an interview with In Touch.
“Earlier in the night, we noticed him in the roped-off section at the front of the bar,” she revealed.
“We recognized him, and we all thought it was cool that he was there, and mentioned hoping for a Miranda appearance.”
“Somehow, later, we were let into the roped-off section where he was. I’m not sure how that was initiated or happened.”
The woman noted that Brendon was “friendly and casual, but never inappropriate or suggestive in any way.”
“He was gracious and polite and kind,” she said, adding that “he was not flirty.”
“He did a lot of laughing at us, because we are a silly bunch and were having a good time just dancing and being goofy together,” she continued.
The woman also said that because of the loud music playing, everyone in the group was forced to get close to speak to one another.
As for why she was seen touching Brendan’s face, she explained, “I’m not sure why I put my hands on his face – I just have a tendency to do that at times without even realizing.
“It’s a silly unconscious habit that I have, and I am responsible for how that may have appeared to the outside world,” she said.
“I never intended it suggestively, probably more ‘motherly,’ as that’s who I am, but that isn’t something that should reflect badly on him at all.”
She added that Brendan left the bar an hour and a half before her group did.
