Meet Mark Briscoe’s wife Brittany amid news of brother’s death

Ring of Honor legend Jay Briscoe, real name Jamin Pugh, has died at the age of 38 following what PW Insider says was a “car accident,” to be survived by his wife Ashley, their children Gannon, Gracie and Jayleigh, and his younger brother Mark.

Mark and Jay together formed the Briscoe Brothers. They won the ROH World Tag Team Championship 13 times.

Currently signed with ROH, Mark and his brother Jay made their debuts 22 years ago, for Combat Zone Wrestling at Delaware Invasion.

In the wake of Jay’s death, people have been showing their appreciation for the brothers by sharing videos of them training together, or promoting their fights in their idiosyncratic way.

Is Mark Briscoe married? Meet wife Brittany amid news of brother’s death

Yes, Mark Briscoe is married – his wife’s name is Brittany Pugh.

They have seven children together, whom Mark isn’t afraid of posting about on Instagram.

On May 10, 2021, he shared a picture of Brittany with six of their kids – they only had six at that time – for Mother’s Day. He wrote that she is “truly amazing.”

They have since had one more child. Weighing just 5lb 5oz at birth, Murphy “Big Murph” Pugh was born in June 2022. He arrived “ahead of schedule,” at 33 weeks.

They live in Delaware near where Mark is from

Mark and Brittany’s children number four boys and three girls – their youngest is a boy.

Brittany’s Twitter bio places their home in Sandy Fork, Delaware, and Mark has been known to post photos from family fishing trips on the Delmarva Peninsula.

The peninsula itself belongs in large part to Delaware, but also to Maryland and Virginia. For his part, Mark Pugh is from Laurel, a town in Sussex County barely a stone’s throw from where he and his wife and children currently live.

On Brittany’s birthday, on March 27, 2021, Mark Briscoe posted a photo of his wife with two of their children. In the caption, he described her his “best friend in the whole world.”

He added that she is the “best mama,” that she is very funny, that she is a “hell of a fisherman,” and the “all-time coolest person I know.”

What happened to Mark Briscoe’s brother?

Reports of Jay Briscoe’s death first started to emerge on January 17, 2023. PW Insider cites Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan as having first announced the news.

“Sadly,” he wrote, “Jamin Pugh has passed away.” That was his real name – Jay Briscoe was a stage name.

“Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH,” he continued, posting on Twitter. “We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest in peace Jamin.”

Jay Briscoe’s cause of death was reportedly a car accident, although PW Insider stresses that details are “very, very preliminary” at this stage.

Jay Briscoe’s wife Ashley Pugh has asked for prayers for daughter Gracie’s surgery

The crash that caused Jay Briscoe’s death left two of his daughters hospitalised.

Delaware State Police released a statement on January 18 with details of the incident. Jamin Pugh was driving two of his daughters in a Silverado 2500. While he “was not wearing a seatbelt,” the report says, his 12-year-old and nine-year-old daughters thankfully were.

Ashley posted on Facebook not long after the crash that she and her family “need prayers.”

“Gracie is on her way into surgery,” she wrote. “Jamie would want the whole world praying for his little girl. “Pray for Jayleigh who has some pretty serious injuries, but is stable and resting! Pray for Gannon waiting at home!”
