Funny McDonald

McDonald’s UK has started off April Fools’ by pranking Twitter with a hilarious pair of chicken nugget boots.

Every year, brands try and pull practical jokes on their customers on April 1 by sharing outrageous things on social media.

In 2022, Google pranked everyone with a fake new innovation called Google Nose which lets you search for specific smells.

The previous year, Pringles fooled the internet with a sour cream and onion flavoured lip balm which obviously wasn’t real.

McDonald’s is the first brand to play an April Fools’ joke in 2022 and it’s amusing people on Twitter…

McDonald’s shares Chicken Nugget boots

The fast food chain tried to prank everyone on Saturday morning with a pair of boots that look like a huge McDonald’s chicken McNuggets.

“Calling all fashionistas,” they said. “We’ve got the must have drop of the season. Unveiling the Big McNugget Boot, the most flavoursome shoe of SS23.”

They claimed the boots are releasing exclusively through the McDonald’s App this Monday and shared three pictures of the interesting design.

The McNugget boots have a brown sole and are shaped like a chicken nugget, although they’re not actually real of course.

Twitter users are amused

It doesn’t look like McDonald’s actually fooled anyone with the wild design, but the prank is amusing people on Twitter nonetheless.

One person wrote “Surely they’d be called nUGGS?” and another agreed: “The nUGG boot.”

“How about something a bit more practical for the British weather, like a Big Mac that you can wear when it rains, but then eat afterwards?” another joked.

Someone else liked the boots and said: “Okay but actually release them.”

However, others weren’t so entertained, with one person saying: “Less of your jokes and bring back the breakfast wrap and the mini wraps.”

If you fancy some more laughs, these funny April Fools’ 2023 memes are bound to make you chuckle.

Take part in McDonald’s Winning Sips

The joke comes as McDonald’s has just launched a brand new competition in the UK called Winning Sips.

The game, which is similar to the popular Monopoly promotion, gives customers the chance to win cash, food and merch by peeling off stickers on certain drinks.

Each sticker contains either an instant win prize or a code to enter on the McDonald’s app and the biggest prize is a whopping £10,000 cash.

Some of the other things you can win include menu items like a Sausage & Egg McMuffin, £100 cash and a McDonald’s bucket hat.

The promotion started on March 29 and runs for four weeks until 11.59pm on April 25 at McDonald’s restaurants in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands.
