In the heartbreaking statement, the late actor’s family members wrote: “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.
“Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.”
They closed with: “You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
A SUDDEN LOSS
On Saturday, the late Friends star died at the age of 54 in an apparent drowning accident at his home.
The TV star was reportedly found unresponsive in a jacuzzi at the home in Los Angeles.
The Fools Rush In star is believed to have drowned, according to an early report from TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the publication that first responders were initially called to the Los Angeles property for a cardiac arrest.
Although Matthew had a long history of addiction, sources told the outlet that drugs were not found at the scene and that foul play is not suspected at this time.
ARRIVING AT THE SCENE
Hours after his death, Matthew’s father, John Bennett Perry, 82, appeared to be reeling with Matthew’s mom, Suzanne Morrison, and stepfather, Keith Morrison.
The trio all seemed dazed and shocked as they pulled up to the property.

Suzanne arrived in a car driven by her partner, Keith.
John stepped onto the scene shortly before them and greeted them at the estate.
The U.S. Sun witnessed John as he looked distraught as he arrived in his car.
The patriarch spoke to officers before he headed back slowly to his vehicle and was allowed under the cordon.
John separated from his mother when Matthew was about one year old.
The Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip actor is also survived by five younger half-siblings: Mia, Emily, Caitlin, Willy, and Madeleine.
HIS LAST POST
On Monday, October 23, Matthew took to Instagram for his final post and shared a snapshot of himself taking a late-night dip.
In the image, he appeared to be relaxing in the water and had a pair of headphones on.
Matthew captioned the post: “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good?”
“I’m Mattman.”
The star’s rise to fame came from his comedic role as Chandler Bing on the popular NBC sitcom.
His famous co-stars included Matt LeBlanc, 56, Courteney Cox, 59, David Schwimmer, 56, Lisa Kudrow, 60, and Jennifer Aniston, 54.
