MATTHEW Perry had made a few strong vows about being a husband and father in his memoir just months before his tragic death.
The Friends star’s body was found in his Los Angeles home on Saturday after he reportedly drowned in a jacuzzi at the age of 54.

Perry, most known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom, previously opened up about his future in his tell-all memoir: Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.
The book, released in November 2022, gave readers a glance into his life on and off screen – including his struggles with addiction, which he had been open about over the years.
The A-list actor claimed that he was no longer afraid of love, especially after previously ending almost all of his relationships.
Perry had been in a few high-profile relationships throughout his decades-long career, including ones with Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts.

He had also proposed to literary manager Molly Hurwitz in 2020, but later broke off the engagement in 2021.
In his book, Perry opened up about the feeling of loneliness and how he dreamed of having a companion by his side.
Feeling hopeful about his next romance, Perry wrote: “The next person I really take seriously is somebody that I’m going to be in love with and not be scared by the things that used to scare me.”
In one chapter, the Canadian actor admitted: “I never imagined I’d be fifty-two and single and not playing fun, dumb games with very cute kids running around repeating nonsense words that I had taught them all just to make my beautiful wife laugh.”

However, Perry said he was looking forward to being married and having kids someday in the future.
“I’m feeling more confident and I’m not afraid of love anymore, so the next girl I go out with better watch out,” he joked.
As a father, “I think I’d be great. I really do,” he added. “I grew up with a lot of little kids around me, and that’s probably why, but I can’t wait.”
Perry also seemed to make a heartbreaking premonition about his death in the book, which was released just 12 months before his death.
Openly discussing his struggles with addiction, he wrote: “Not only do I have the disease, but I also have it bad. I have it as bad as you can have it, in fact. It’s back-to-the-wall time all the time. It’s going to kill me.”
The A-list actor explained that he had nearly died and had had a one in 50 chance of surviving after his colon burst due to his opiate use.
Despite his struggles, sources revealed that no drugs were found at the scene of his death and that foul play is not suspected at this time, per TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that first responders were called to the Los Angeles property for a cardiac arrest shortly after Perry came home from a game of pickleball and sent his assistant out on an errand.
The assistant is said to have returned roughly two hours later, where he discovered Perry unresponsive and reached out to emergency services.
