Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has stated on his Instagram story that Thiago Silva’s injury is a ‘massive blow’ for Graham Potter’s Chelsea.
The 38-year-old is Chelsea’s best and most important player, but after going off injured during his side’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday, the news coming through is that the centre-back has suffered knee ligament damage and he is facing six weeks out.
This is just a further kick in the teeth for a Chelsea side sitting tenth in the table and in serious danger of, not only missing out on Champions League football but a European finish altogether.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have also had issues this term and many have been left surprised by how the Reds and Chelsea have struggled.
But this Thiago Silva news could work in their favour because it provides them with that extra advantage in the fight for European places.
Added to that, they travel to Stamford Bridge next month and, without Silva, Liverpool should secure the points.

WILL POTTER STILL BE AT CHELSEA WHEN THIAGO SILVA RETURNS?
It could be argued that by the time Liverpool take on Chelsea on April 4, not only will Thiago Silva be missing, but the under-fire Graham Potter might not even be in the dugout.
The pressure is seriously mounting on the Englishman and the calls for him to be sacked are just growing louder.
Defeat to London rivals Tottenham on Sunday didn’t help matters and he might not even survive the weekend if they lose to relegation-threatened Leeds United.
