Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Leicester City’s James Maddison in recent months.
With the summer transfer window on the horizon, some reports say Spurs are frontrunners for his signature.
Earlier this month, The Telegraph claimed Tottenham are leading the race to sign Maddison.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope seemed even more positive of Spurs landing the 26-year-old.
“I don’t expect James Maddison to go to Newcastle now,” he told Sky Sports last week.
“The noises I’m hearing, he will be going to Spurs.”

‘Makes things happen’
English midfield legend Bryan Robson has now given his verdict on Maddison amid links to Spurs.
He wrote in the Daily Mail: “He would be well suited to Spurs.
“Has great ability and vision, really makes things happen in the attacking third and revels in that role off the striker.”
Maddison has been outstanding for Leicester this season, despite their relegation battle.
He has registered an impressive nine goals and six assists from 24 Premier League outings.

In addition, Maddison’s contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 season.
The England international looks like a main contender to be on the move at the end of the campaign.
Even if Leicester stay up, this summer will be the last chance for them to cash in on Maddison.
The attacking midfielder is in his peak years and will surely fancy playing for a team challenging for honours.
Meanwhile, Tottenham could really do with some more creativity between midfield and attack.
Harry Kane has been playing as a hybrid No. 9 / No. 10, but he really shouldn’t have to.
Maddison would certainly tick a lot of boxes for Tottenham and be a great recruit for them.

At the same time, Spurs are at risk of missing out on the Champions League.
Should that happen, other clubs might end up having more appeal that Tottenham this summer.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the Champions League race, as Newcastle’s position isn’t so certain now either.
