MADONNA’s bacterial infection is so serious that her family members thought she might die, a relative has said.
The singer, 64, was hospitalized in New York City on Saturday after she was found unconscious while preparing for her upcoming tour.

An unnamed relative told the Daily Mail the infection was so grave that the family believed Madonna might die.
“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the relative said.
“Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.”

The relative said the health scare has brought the family together and served as a wake up call for Madonna.
“She has not been living as healthy a life as she should be for her age, and she has been wearing herself thin over the past couple of months,” they said.
“She thinks that she is still young when, in fact, she is not. She also believes that she is invincible.”
Madonna has reportedly been working around the clock to prepare for her upcoming tour.
The tour was supposed to begin in Vancouver, Canada, on July 15 but has now been postponed.
