Michael Owen thinks Joao Felix has ‘bedded in’ at Chelsea after the loaned-out Atletico Madrid star seemingly turned down Arsenal during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old scored for Graham Potter’s Chelsea as they recorded a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Everton on Saturday and Michael Owen thinks Felix had some ‘lovely moments’ during the game, on top of his well-taken goal, as he told Premier League Productions (18/03/23 at 7:45 pm).
That was Felix’s second goal since moving to Stamford Bridge, which has been drama-filled from the start, including getting sent off on his debut against Fulham.

It could have been different for the ball-carrying expert because there was talk of a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but it has been suggested that he turned down such a move.
If that is the case, then it’s still Arsenal’s gain because, the man they did sign, Leandro Trossard, is well and truly smashing it since his permanent transfer from Brighton.
But Chelsea, during their indifferent season, seemingly have a light in Felix, according to Michael Owen.
“He (Felix) did have some lovely moments (against Everton),” said Owen. “I like the way he had bedded in at Chelsea. He’s the type of player that they tend to either really flourish or not.

“Just being a bog standard player playing every week, that number ten position is a very unique position, and unless you are going to make magic happen, then you are going to get lost in the Premier League.
“But I do like the way he has settled into the Premier League. He is slight. He doesn’t mind putting himself about. Runs the channels. A great touch, and if there was going to be a spark, then it was going to be him and, lo and behold, he opened the scoring. It was a nice finish as well.”

FELIX SHOULD RETURN TO PREMIER LEAGUE NEXT SEASON
It will be interesting if Chelsea decide to snap up the Portugal international for good in the summer because they should look at that option.
Even if Chelsea opt against it, Felix is someone that would cook in the Premier League, once he gets a pre-season under his belt, he is settled and playing in a forward-thinking system.
Dare it be said, but should Arsenal be ruled out? Crazier things have happened in the game, but it will be interesting where Felix ends up in the summer.
