The former boy band member Liam Payne has baffled his fans with the surprise announcement of an event this summer, facing off against popular boxer Tommy Fury.
In what initially looked to be a boxing event teaser, is now being speculated as a charity football event.

Whilst there’s been no confirmation yet as to what the event will actually be, Liam and Tommy both took to the social media site Instagram, sharing what seemingly looks like a boxing match poster.
One user commented, “April Fools was last week?” Whilst another joked “Liam, this is the wrong direction for you”.
However, some are starting to believe there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to the potential boxing event. As some Instagram users have pointed out, the 2023 charity Soccer Aid football match is set to be held at Old Trafford, Manchester, on June 11.

The poster states the Payne/Fury event is set to take place at Old Trafford in the coming summer. As some have noticed, this is a bizarre setting for a boxing event.
Although it could be a boxing match, it seems more likely the two celebrities will be facing off on the pitch, rather than in the ring.
