Sadio Mane has hailed Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye as a ‘legend’ on Instagram after he earned his 100th cap for Senegal.
The former Liverpool player congratulated Idrissa Gueye on his recent milestone as the 33-year-old thanked Sadio Mane for his kind words – Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne was also delighted for Gueye.
That 100th cap ended in a perfect fashion for Gueye because Senegal smashed Mozambique 5-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Whilst Everton’s man in the middle has raised his bat and reached the 100 mark, that feat is around the corner for Mane.
The former Liverpool and Southampton star has 94 caps for his nation and scored 33 goals during that period, including becoming champions of Africa in 2022.
Nonetheless, when Gueye reached his landmark moment, Mane posted the following message to his fellow countryman.
GUEYE PICKING UP FORM
It has been a disastrous season for Everton and Gueye upon his return to Merseyside after repping PSG during these past few years.
There have been many error-prone performances from the player, from that woeful backpass against Brighton to losing possession against Arsenal and then conceding a goal.
But, things are now starting to pick up under Sean Dyche and he will be pleased that a few of his players will return to Goodison Park on strong form after the international break.
