On Monday, Kellie, 37, performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville as part of the Walkin’ After Midnight tribute to the late Patsy Cline.

A TikTok video recorded by an audience member captured the Red High Heels singer telling the crowd, “How we doin’ tonight, y’all? I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m incredibly nervous right now.”

She continued, “It’s been the first time I’ve been up on stage in a while.”

The performance was Kellie’s first since her husband passed on February 17, 2023.

The American Idol Season Five finalist briefly spoke about her Kyle before forming her song, The Woman I Am.

She told the audience, “My husband and I actually wrote this song together, gosh, over a decade ago.”

“The last time I was here in the Ryman Auditorium was with him on a date night, and I know he is here with us tonight.”

“Thank y’all so much for having me. I’m going to do the best I can,” Kellie added.

On X, formally Twitter, a fan posted a clip of the country star’s performance and tweeted, “@kelliepickler we’ve missed you!”

The If It Wasn’t for a Woman stunned in a bedazzled black and white gown and channeled Old Hollywood stardom with her long, platinum blonde hair styled into waves and swept to the side.

KELLIE AND KYLE

Kellie married her late husband, Kyle, on January 1, 2011.

Like his wife, he was a talented musician

Kyle built a career as a country music artist, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist.

He co-wrote the Garth Brooks hit More Than a Memory and worked with Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Kelly Clarkson, Jo Dee Messina, Trace Adkins, Scotty McCreery, Clay Walker, and others.

Kellie met Kyle in 2007 at a bar with some of her friends in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to Kellie, the duo started writing songs together the following day.

The singer gushed over her husband in a 2016 interview on the former Fox daytime talk show, The Real.

She said, “We started writing songs the next day, and then we got hitched, well, that happened a few years later.”

TRAGIC LOSS

Kyle was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 49 years old on February 17, 2023, at his and Kellie’s $2.4million home in Nashville.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported receiving a 911 call at 1:21 pm from the couple’s home.

Per the police department, “Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.”

“Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him.

“After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”

On May 9, 2023, The Davidson Country Medical Examiner confirmed to E! News that Kyle died by suicide.

Kellie and Kyle did not have any children.
