JOY-ANNA Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, have offloaded a piece of Arkansas property they planned to turn into an RV park for $165,000.
Joy-Anna, 26, and Austin, 30, bought the 11-acre lot in August 2022 for $159,500.
The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal they sold the property for $165,000 in November 2023.
The sale comes after their hopes to turn the property into an RV park were dashed last year.
KNWA reported in January 2023 Austin and his developer spoke at a town meeting to request to change the area zoned for agriculture to comply with zoning for an RV park.
Austin explained how the campground for RVs would be a “great experience for campers and the community of Elkins.”
But the planning commission denied the rezoning request after also hearing from members of the public.
According to the outlet, resident Madeline Haydon said at the meeting: “I just feel like putting it in the middle of a small city, next to a big school, and then also a city that’s having water and drainage issues, traffic issues, and then adding possible spots for up to almost 190 RVs, that’s kind of worrisome for everybody, I think.”
Elkins School District Superintendent Jeremy Mangrum agreed, as he argued: “From a school district’s standpoint, we can’t support the location of this RV park.
“I’m a camper. I have a camper. My camper sits at a campsite at an RV park. It’s in a rural area. It’s not close to town. It’s not close to schools.”
Joy-Anna and Austin are campers and purchased their own motorhome in August 2021.
NEW RIDE
The parents of three announced they were undergoing a total renovation of the RV before taking it on the road.
Joy-Anna’s post in August 2021 read: “We bought this 2001 Freightliner Fleetwood, Bounder, Class A, Motorhome a few months back, and we’re finally starting on the renovation!!
“We plan to replace all of the flooring, paint the cabinets and walls, update the hardware and convert our closet into a bunk room for the kids.”
COUNTING ON CANCELED
The failed career venture came after the family’s long-running series, Counting On, was canceled in June 2021 after Jim Bob and Michelle’s oldest son, Josh, was arrested on child pornography charges.
He was found guilty and sentenced to 151 months in FCI Seagoville in Texas.
CAREER SUCCESS?
Joy-Anna’s husband buys, renovates and sells homes for a living, as he posts photos from his various flips on Instagram.
As for Joy-Anna, she promotes products on social media and has a family YouTube page.
Joy-Anna’s salary was revealed in court documents from when the Duggar sisters sued the City of Springdale, police department employees and others for invasion of privacy after the release of their oldest brother Josh’s 2006 molestation police report caused “emotional distress.”
In Joy-Anna’s deposition from the case, which was dismissed, taken on August 30, 2021, she was asked if she suffered “monetary injuries” from the disclosures.
The mom of two responded: “I do advertising online and I have lost multiple deals because of it, being a majority of them, actually.”
She explained of her at-home job: “I have companies – either I reach out to companies – or they reach out to me and – to promote different products.
“Could be beauty, could be, you know, baby stuff, home supplies, electronics, pretty much anything. I normally take pictures and post them with, like, links for people to – to use to get, you know, a discount.”
The mom of three said she also receives income from her YouTube channel.
Joy-Anna said her income for 2020 for just her was $40,000.
When asked if that amount has built up over time, she responded: “Because I’ve been proactive in it, it has. But it’s also really hard to get new people to do advertising with me.
“Or they’ll – they’ll start and then they’ll cut it off.”
