Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Nottingham Forest, Jermaine Jenas has said that Brendan Rodgers would be a quality appointment if Antonio Conte ends up leaving.
While the likes of Jamie Carragher and Peter Crouch have had their say on Mauricio Pochettino, who is the obvious candidate to come in, the ex-Spurs man has thrown a new name into the hat.
It is likely that many Tottenham fans would scoff at the prospect of Brendan Rodgers replacing Antonio Conte as their side gears up to face Nottingham Forest but Jermaine Jenas disagrees.
Jermaine Jenas on Brendan Rodgers replacing Antonio Conte ahead of Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest
Considering the Foxes have struggled under the 50-year-old’s stewardship this season, sitting as low as 15th in the league, his stock has plumetted.
However, Jermaine Jenas seems optimistic about Tottenham replacing Antonio Conte for Brendan Rodgers next season, ahead of his former side’s clash against Nottingham Forest.

“I like Brendan Rodgers as well, another manager [apart from Mauricio Pochettino] that I think will do very well”, he said on BT Sport.

Interestingly, Pochettino himself called the former Liverpool boss ‘fantastic’ in 2019 via Leicester Mercury, which tells you that he is rated amongst the big names in the game.
In our view: Tottenham can aim higher
There is no denying that the Northern Irishman has done an excellent job at the King Power Stadium and is perhaps slightly underrated nowadays.
However, it also can be said that while Jermaine Jenas was right before Tottenham face Nottingham Forest that Brendan Rodgers would perform well as a replacement for Antonio Conte, the club can aim higher.
With up-and-coming managers such as Marcelo Gallardo, Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim linked with the Spurs job, they could make a more ambitious move in the managerial market rather than bringing in the ex-Swansea City manager, who we all know what to expect from.
