Jamie Carragher has expressed his surprise at a situation Liverpool colossus Ibrahima Konate finds himself in.
What’s the story?
Well, the 45-year-old cannot believe that the £36m Liverpool man finds himself behind Dayot Upamecano on the international scene with France.
Carragher made the comment after watching Upamecano play for Bayern Munich in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night, in which the Frenchman struggled.
The man with 737 appearances for Liverpool simply wrote the following along with an emoji expressing shock: “Upamecano plays ahead of Konate for France.”
Bayern Munich’s No.2 was very shaky against the Citizens.
Upamecano almost cost the German giants a goal shortly after half-time as he was caught in possession.
The 24-year-old was then caught out again in the 70th minute as Manchester City robbed him of the ball, before Bernardo Silva headed beyond Yann Sommer to punish his sloppiness at the second time of asking.

To be blunt, it was a woeful performance from Upamecano, on a night where he seemed to crumble under the pressure of the occasion.
Liverpool could have signed Upamecano instead of Konate
Upamecano and Konate were two of the most wanted defenders in Europe after forging a solid partnership together at RB Leipzig.
Both were so impressive that Jürgen Klopp simply could not choose between them.

The Athletic believe the 55-year-old got in touch with his contacts in German football to ask about both Konate and Upamecano, to help him make a decision on which of the pair he should bring to Anfield.
However, Bayern Munich swiftly sealed a £38.5m deal for the latter, leaving Liverpool with no choice but to sign Konate.
As things stand, it seems Klopp managed to sign the better player out of the two, and like Carragher, we also find it bizarre how Didier Deschamps chooses the Bayern Munich defender over the Liverpool No.5 for France.
