West Ham manager news: Journalist drops huge David Moyes future update ahead of Forest clash

Journalist Peter O’Rourke has said that the internal discussions about whether David Moyes should stay as West Ham United boss have amped up ahead of their encounter against Nottingham Forest.

The £95,000-a-week coach’s job has been seemingly under threat, with a recent report even claiming that the Hammers are looking to follow in the footsteps of Southampton and Leeds United by sacking their manager. As a result, the likes of Maurizio Sarri and Thomas Tuchel have been linked with taking over the role as Irons boss.

Now, Peter O’Rourke has suggested that David Moyes could be in trouble, as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest.

Ultimately, this may not come as a huge surprise to some, as it was only recently claimed that if the Scot does not manage to get a win under his belt against Steve Cooper’s side, he could be given the chop.

Now, journalist Peter O’Rourke has given an insight into David Moyes’ situation at West Ham, ahead of their upcoming battle against Nottingham Forest.

“Yeah, I think this has been an ongoing situation for the West Ham board; they have held internal discussions for a while now, West Ham are on a bad run and I’m sure those would have been accelerated probably in recent days following West Ham dropping into that bottom three of the Premier League”, he told GiveMeSport.

The journalist continued about the David Moyes situation at West Ham ahead of the Forest clash, saying, “It’s maybe not panic stations at West Ham right now, but real concerns that they could end up getting relegated and that will be a disaster for the club right now.”

“So yeah, it’s a huge few games coming up for the side and for David Moyes’ long-term future, this Nottingham Forest game looks like it could be win or bust for David Moyes and the club might have to make a decision and bring a new manager if they are to stave off that threat of relegation.”

Well, for David Moyes’ sake, considering how well he has done at West Ham when looking at his entire spell, one hopes he gets a result that deems his job as safe against Forest.
