- Head to your Instagram DMs tab and click on the compose button that appears in the top right corner.
- Select ‘Create broadcast channel’.
- Choose the name for your channel.
- Send your first broadcast message.
Once the message has been sent, followers will receive a one-time notification to join the channel. Influencers can also add the “join channel” sticker to their stories or their bio to encourage people to join the group.
If you are a creator with a subscription and want to create a channel that is open to all followers, be sure to set the audience to “all followers.”
How to join a Broadcast Channel
To join the Broadcast Channel, follow the steps below:
- Access the link through the influencers’ story, bios, or one-time message.
- Click on “Join broadcast channel.”
- The channel will appear in your Instagram DMs along with the other messages.
While all followers will receive the invite when the channel is first created, only those who have joined the group will be getting other messages.
You can leave or mute broadcast channels at any time, or turn off a creator’s broadcast channel notifications entirely.
