Michael Owen is backing Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur to secure a top-four finish this season ahead of Liverpool and Newcastle United.
The former England striker spoke about how, both Spurs and Liverpool, are ‘inconsistent’, but he put forward the name of the London side.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are also right in the mix. They are four points off fourth-placed Spurs with two games in hand.

It seems as though those three teams will be battling it out for that final Champions League spot, with Arsenal and Man City pushing for the title and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United sitting in third.
But someone like free-scoring Brighton, whilst not a big name, should also get their flowers because they are nine points behind Spurs with three games in hand.
Nonetheless, when talking about the top-four race, this is what Michael Owen had to say about Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle, as he told Premier League Productions.
“I would be surprised if Tottenham didn’t clinch that fourth space because Liverpool are inconsistent,” said Owen.
“Newcastle are rocky, even though they have played some tough games.

“Spurs are up and down, a little bit inconsistent , a bit like Liverpool actually. But it’s a good performance, even though Nottingham Forest made it easy for them.
“After Liverpool were chasing them down and getting closer and closer. They will be breathing a sigh of relief now because they have a bit of a cushion again.”

TOP FOUR BIGGER FOR SPURS AND LIVERPOOL
For Newcastle, they are still at the start of their long-term project, so if they miss out on that fourth spot, then their fans will just be happy with a return to Europe and building from there.
But this is big for Conte at Spurs and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Whilst the German won’t be going anywhere, the same can’t be said for the Italian, nor his star striker, Harry Kane.
But, for Liverpool, if they don’t return to the Champions League next season, then fans might also worry that those big names won’t arrive during the summer transfer window.
