Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:02pm, March 4, 2023) that he wants Moises Caicedo at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The Arsenal legend has said that he cannot lie about his desire regarding the Gunners and Caicedo, and has made it clear that he wishes the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder were at the North London club now.
Wright has also congratulated the 21-year-old, who was linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, on his new deal.
The MOTD pundit made the comments about Caicedo while analysing his performance for Brighton against West Ham United on Saturday.
The Seagulls got the better of the Hammers 4-0 at home in the Premier League.
Caicedo was superb in the middle of the park.
The youngster signed a new contract with Brighton this week.

According to The Daily Mail in January 2023, Arsenal wanted to sign Caicedo from Brighton in the January transfer window and had two bids for the Ecuador international turned down.

Brighton wanted as much as £80 million in transfer fees for Caicedo, described as “fantastic” and “incredible” by his Seagulls teammate Adam Webster on the club’s official website in April 2022.
Arsenal did not want to pay that much.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano in CaughtOffSide in January, Caicedo would have loved to join Arsenal.
Caicedo himself posted a message on Instagram saying that he wanted Brighton to sell him.

Wright said when MOTD presenter and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker teased him about Arsenal and Caicedo: “I wish. I can’t lie.”
The Arsenal legend added: “I am delighted for him. Good luck on his new deal.”
