Tottenham fans have been given an insight into what Harry Kane is thinking amid huge uncertainty at Spurs.
What’s the story?
Well, the England international will only have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season, leaving Spurs in a difficult position.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been mentioned as potential destinations for Kane.
Now, Melissa Reddy has told Sky Sports what those close to the 29-year-old have been saying.
The 36-year-old said: “One thing I was told by someone who knows him quite well is that he does not want to be known as the guy who broke scoring records but had no trophies.”
Clearly – if this is true – Kane will not be staying at Tottenham unless the north Londoners prove to their talisman that they can secure some silverware soon.
Antonio Conte was described as someone capable of guiding Kane to trophies when he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo, but the Italian’s time in charge of Spurs has been largely underwhelming.
Now, the 53-year-old looks set to leave Tottenham when his own contract expires in July, putting Daniel Levy back to square one in his hunt for a successful Spurs manager.
Kane has to consider leaving Tottenham
In our view, nobody at Tottenham would begrudge Kane for leaving in search of trophies, after everything he has done in N17.
The £200,000-a-week striker has scored 20 Premier League goals once again this season, is Tottenham’s all-time top scorer and is just one goal away from becoming England’s highest scorer in history.

Those are remarkable individual records, but if Kane truly does want to win a trophy at club level, he must consider leaving his beloved Spurs.
Tottenham have shown no signs of being serious challengers under Daniel Levy in recent years, and as other Premier League sides such as Newcastle and Brighton step it up, Spurs are at risk of being left behind.
When the summer transfer window comes around, both Spurs and Kane have a huge decision to make together.
