After Liverpool suffered a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, Jamie Carragher said once again that the hosts are a better team without Erling Haaland.
The Reds legend has had this opinion for a long time, which has become quite a popular take amongst fans and pundits alike.

As Manchester City were at their fluid best with Julian Alvarez in their side against Liverpool, Jamie Carragher had a hot take about Erling Haaland once again.
Jamie Carragher aims jibe at Erling Haaland after Manchester City beat Liverpool
The Premier League champions were in scintillating touch for most of the game, responding to Mohamed Salah’s opening goal like winners do.
Julian Alvarez took the spotlight with the all-important equaliser and sublime pre-assist for Kevin De Bruyne’s eventual winner.
As Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish added their names to the scoresheet for Manchester City in their thrashing of Liverpool, Jamie Carragher took aim at Erling Haaland.
“So, I was right, Man City are better without Haaland”, he said accompanied by a smug emoji on Twitter.
In our view: That’s as poor a take as there is
Considering Julian Alvarez has played limited minutes this season, to come to such an extreme conclusion based on such a small sample size is as reactionary as it gets.
Sure, Alvarez was sensational and so were Manchester City against Liverpool but this seems like yet another attempt from Carragher to take credit away from the unprecedented impact of the £51.2 million (Sky Sports) man.
Bizarrely, the Sky pundit has also managed to ignore the much-publicised mentality issue at City that Pep Guardiola has referenced this campaign after winning four out of the last five Premier League titles, underperforming players around Haaland and a lack of certain profiles in the squad.
Unfortunately, several fans and pundits alike have a narrow view on the game, and as a result, flawed agendas continue to get pushed.
