Owen Hargreaves was baffled by the manner in which Liverpool and Trent Alexander-Arnold took their free-kick during their goalless draw at Crystal Palace.
The former England midfielder has urged Liverpool to ‘trust’ the right-back after his effort at the weekend was blocked by Jordan Henderson.
Mo Salah rolled the ball to the 24-year-old when on the edge of the area, and with the ball seemingly heading towards the back of the net, it was blocked via the head of none other than his captain.

Replays showed that the ball was probably curling into the back of the net, and in the end, it proved to be costly because the Reds dropped more points.
Hargreaves played alongside David Beckham, who was one of the best at dead-ball situations during his playing days.
Alexander-Arnold has been likened to the Manchester United legend, in that regard, as he shared his thoughts on the free-kick specialist, as he told Generation XG on Premier League Productions (27/02/23 at 5:55 pm).
“I don’t understand when this became a thing,” said Hargreaves. “If you are a free kick taker, trust Trent (Alexander-Arnold).

“When David Beckham took free-kicks, they just trusted him to get it up and down over the wall. Pirlo and Juninho. All these players. Let the free-kick taker do his job.
“You are just getting in the way – honestly, I don’t understand.”

ALEXANDER-ARNOLD HAS LOST HIS CONFIDENCE
The defensive side of Alexander-Arnold’s game has gone well and truly out of the window.
If it wasn’t for a goal-shy Palace side, then the struggling Merseyside club would have been punished for their errors at Selhurst Park.
Alexander-Arnold nearly provided two glaring errors during the game, and whilst his attacking quality still shows, he is devoid of confidence elsewhere.
