Don Hutchison has told Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United to sign James Maddison from Leicester City ‘in a heartbeat’.
After sacking Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes are in a world of trouble and they weren’t helped by James Maddison’s backpass that gifted Bournemouth a win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
It puts the managerless club in the bottom three and Hutchison expressed his ‘real worry’ for the Midlands club, who not so long ago were FA Cup winners.

Even if Leicester don’t get relegated, it seems as though they are going to lose their key man in the middle of the park – Newcastle have been long-admirers of the 26-year-old.
And Hutchison thinks, amongst Leicester’s struggles, Champions League-chasing Newcastle need to get hold of Maddison, as soon as possible, as he told ESPN.
“This team (Leicester) is on the way down,” said Hutchison. “Leicester, as it stands, are no wins it eight. Nottingham Forest are no wins in nine. I think Southampton have gone.

“Leicester really worry me. I look at this side, with James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. If I am Newcastle, then I am signing James Maddison in a heartbeat.”

MADDISON SHOULD BE PLAYING IN EUROPE
It was a howler of a back pass from Maddison against Bournemouth that gifted Phillip Billing with a goal and it has cost his team, big time.
But, over the course of the season, he has been outstanding, including getting himself a long-awaited call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
But his goalscoring talents now need to land on the doorstep of a team in Europe, and in truth, Newcastle can probably provide that, especially if they get Champions League football.
