TOTTENHAM

Ian Wright says Harry Kane and Richarlison will be questioning what is going on at Tottenham Hotspur following Antonio Conte’s outburst.

The former striker stated that ‘top players’ would initially want to join Spurs, because of a manager like Conte and what he has on his CV, but they will then be asking ‘how do I get out of here?’ after realising the reality of the situation behind-closed-doors.

Ian Wright spoke about summer capture Richarlison who might be thinking that way and how Harry Kane will be asking ‘who is coming in?’, that’s if Conte is to depart.

If Daniel Levy ever wanted a reason to sack Conte, well, now he has the ideal chance to do so.

The international break is upon us, and from that perspective, the Spurs chairman has time to bring someone in, if he feels he needs to change the man in the dugout.

But, as of this moment, Conte is still Tottenham’s manager, as Wright spoke about how players like Richarlison and Kane will be feeling, at this moment in time, as he told Premier League Productions (20/03/23 at 2:20 pm).

“If Conte is there, with that CV, I like Conte and I would probably want to go (to Tottenham if I was a top player) because they are probably using the fact that Conte is here and things are going to change,” said Wright. “We are going to bring this player in, we are going to bring that player in.

“If you are going there, then you are going for Conte and you hope it happens, but then you get there and as a player you realise, it’s not happening.

“You as a player are starting to think ‘how do I get out of here now?’ You can see the manager now. How do you feel like someone like Richarlison feels now and what’s going on? He has to be thinking now ‘well, who is coming in?’

“Harry Kane (will be thinking) ‘who is coming in and what’s going on? The manager has just gone (lost it in his presser).

“Again, it’s a place, if I am a top player, and Tottenham are at the top end of our league, that’s where they are, even though they are having a poor season from their fans’ point of view. They won’t be happy with the football they are playing. They are up there because they are good enough to be up there, at the same time, you feel like it’s just not going to happen.”

KANE DESERVES MORE

The one player that deserves better is Harry Kane because he has been treated in a dreadful manner by everyone at the club, including Daniel Levy.

The Spurs chairman didn’t push the boat out when Mauricio Pochettino was cooking at Spurs, he sacked Jose Mourinho one week before a League Cup final and now this mess with Conte.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if he does leave in the summer because Tottenham isn’t the place for him right now.
