Liverpool fell to a meek 1-0 defeat away at Bournemouth in Saturday’s early Premier League kickoff.
The Reds wasted the opportunity to move into the top four as the hosts got the better of their opponents.
Philip Billing slotted home from Dango Outtara’s low cross in the 29th minute of the match.

Liverpool missed a number of opportunities to get back into the game and perhaps even win it.
The standout miss for the Reds was from Mohamed Salah, who failed to convert a penalty.
However, he wasn’t the only Liverpool player who wasn’t on form in front of goal.
In the fifth minute of injury time, Cody Gakpo missed a good chance to equalise.
The 23-year-old took a touch to bring the ball under control, but proceeded to volley over.
Jermaine Jenas, commentating on BT Sport, noticed how gutted Gakpo looked at that spurned opportunity.

“It sat up perfectly for Gakpo to hit, he’s just got to hit the target,” he said, as transcribed by BBC Sport.
“You can see the disappointment on his face. But this place is bouncing.”
It was the last chance of the game, as Bournemouth held on and condemned Liverpool to a costly defeat.

Mediocre performance
On the whole, Gakpo wasn’t terrible, and he did try hard, but overall, his display wasn’t more than a 6 out of 10.
The Dutchman’s end product wasn’t good, and the Cherries defence was able to deal with him fairly easily.
Not a good day for Liverpool, who now find themselves six points behind Tottenham, albeit with a game in hand.
On the plus side, Spurs have also lacked consistency this season.
So there’s always hope of sneaking into that top-four place.
