Michael Owen says Odsonne Edouard ‘hasn’t set the world alight’ following his transfer from Celtic to Crystal Palace.
The former Premier League striker added that Edouard has the pedigree to score goals for goal-shy Crystal Palace, but he has only displayed those qualities when was up in Scotland.
During the 2021 summer transfer window, Edouard secured a £14 million transfer from Celtic to Selhurst Park (Sky Sports).

Whilst the 25-year-old thrived for a dominant Celtic side in the Scottish Premiership, it has been a different story altogether in England’s top flight.
He has managed just nine goals in 50 league matches, in comparison, he struck 60 in 104 for the Bhoys.
Patrick Vieira has left the player on the bench for the last three games, including during the goalless draw against Liverpool over the weekend, with Michael Owen sharing his thoughts, as he told Premier League Productions (25/02/23 at 9:40 pm).
“They don’t have a pedigree of goalscoring,” said Owen. “Edouard came in, he’s probably the only one (that can score).

“He scored a lot of goals in Scotland, but he’s not set the Premier League alight.”

PALACE HAVE TO MOVE EDOUARD ON
The issue here is that Edouard isn’t the only one struggling. Without Wilfried Zaha on the pitch, Palace are goal-shy and devoid of ideas and threat in the final third.
The club’s top-scorer is Zaha with six, whilst another struggling forward, Jean-Philippe Mateta, only has one strike to his name.
Either way, a change is probably needed to Vieira’s forward line, if they are to move forward, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Edouard is booted out in the summer.
