Napoli striker Victor Osimhen believes Serie A team-mate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is a future Ballon D’Or winner as Premier League giants Arsenal and Newcastle United eye the winger, speaking to Football Italia.
The Georgian’s magical assist during Napoli’s recent Champions League last-16 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt summed him up. He’s a little unorthodox. He doesn’t always do things by the book. But goddamn does he get results.
Kvaratskheklia controlled a lofted pass with a wonderful twisting touch. Then, before the Frankfurt defence had chance to adjust, he backheeled the ball instinctively into the path of Giovanni di Lorenzo to slot home.

The former Rubin Kazan flyer did not rise through the ranks at an established European giant and it shows. He is a bonafide streetfighter of a footballer. A man who vibes through games. His unpredictability meaning it is almost impossible to tear your eyes away from his swivelling snake hips.
Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester City like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
“He’s a great guy,” smiles Osimhem; striking up arguably Europe’s most fearsome attacking partnership with Napoli’s £9 million summer signing. “I realised that immediately.

“Everyone loves him in the dressing room. Not only for what he does on the pitch but also for what he does off it. I believe he can win the Ballon d’Or in the next few years. I hope he also brings many successes to Napoli.”
According to 90Min, Premier League leaders Arsenal turned to Kvaratskhelia after missing out on the similarly jet-heeled Mykhaylo Mudryk to London rivals Chelsea. Whether the Gunners plan to launch an assault for the one-time Tottenham target remains to be seen, however. Leandro Trossard did, after all, arrive from Brighton as recently as January.
Give Me Sport reporter Dean Jones, meanwhile, insists Manchester City may be tempted to a wildcard winger to their already thrilling frontline. Eddie Howe also believes Kvaratskhelia may be perfect for his system at St James’ Park.
“(Newcastle boss) Howe, in particular, sees Kvaratskhelia as a fit,” Jones explains. “Because he’s fast, technical and a natural in a 4-3-3.”
