Next Tottenham manager: Alasdair Gold delivers fresh Julian Nagelsmann to Chelsea verdict

Journalist Alasdair Gold has said that Julian Nagelsmann is likelier to become the next manager of Chelsea than Tottenham Hotspur.

Surprisingly, Dan Kilpatrick reported that Spurs have not even contacted the former Bayern Munich boss, as he is not viewed as a ‘top target.’

But considering Julian Nagelsmann has been linked with the Tottenham Hotspur manager job for the longest time, the club’s fanbase may well be upset that he could accept the Chelsea job instead.

Alasdair Gold tips Julian Nagelsmann to become Chelsea & not Tottenham manager

The German tactician is viewed as one of the best coaches in the world, regarded as a man that could innovate the sport for the next decade.

As Nagelsmann was sacked out-of-the-blue at Bayern, many felt this was a rare opportunity for the Lilywhites to bring in a potentially elite coach in through the door.

However, Alasdair Gold has said that as brilliant as Julian Nagelsmann would be as the next Tottenham manager, he may be set to join Chelsea.

“[Julian] Nagelsmann is similar [to Roberto De Zerbi], he’s a very precise, exciting manager. Yes, I think some of the man-management aspect of bigger stars, he probably needs to work on. That’s what was coming out of Bayern”, he said on the Gold and Guest talk Tottenham podcast.

“But then, let’s be honest, at Spurs, he isn’t going to have as many of those egos to work with, so it would be a good fit.”

“Nagelsmann, if you give him the choice of Chelsea and Spurs, he’s going to Chelsea. No contest, because even if they’re not in the Champions League, which it looks like they’re very unlikely to be, the money that any manager going into that, to have the backing to do whatever they want with that squad is ridiculous, compared to Spurs.”

That must be a shame for Tottenham fans as a manager like Julian Nagelsmann is unlikely to be out-of-work for a long time and the fact that he may pick a move to Chelsea over them is bound to sting even more.
