Jose Enrique has claimed on his Instagram story that Bruno Guimaraes ‘will stay’ at Newcastle United and he ‘loves the club’ amid transfer links to Real Madrid.
The former Newcastle United left-back added that Guimaraes is Eddie Howe’s ‘best player’, with the 25-year-old midfielder a firm fan favourite at St James’ Park.
Ever since Howe took charge of the club, it could be argued that the January transfer capture of 2022 has been the club’s best and most consistent player.

The Magpies are pushing for Champions League football this term and they are four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with two games in hand.
If they are to push well ahead of their long-term project under their Saudi-led owners and secure a top-four finish, then Guimaraes will have to play a massive part during these next few months.
Nonetheless, when talking about Guimaraes’ future, Enrique posted the following message on his IG story.

“He (Guimaraes) is the best player,” said Enrique. “He needs to stay and I believe he will stay. He loves the club.”

REAL MADRID LINKS TO GUIMARAES
The current La Liga and European Cup holders have a serious amount of talent, especially in the middle of the park, at their disposal, so it has to be questioned just how much they really want Newcastle’s midfield brain.
There’s no doubt that Guimaraes is showcasing that he is more than capable of playing Champions League football, but he would just about get on the bench at Madrid.
Regardless of that, the La Liga giants are keen on the Brazil international, with Newcastle looking to frustrate the Spanish club in their attempts to sign their star man by putting an £85 million price tag on his head.
