'He will be bought': Club president suggests Arsenal have a free run at signing £35m 'talent'

Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino has said that while the club do not intend to sell Arsenal target Gabri Veiga, they are resigned to the idea a transfer is on the cards this summer.

It was recently reported that while Liverpool are keen on signing the £35 million-rated midfielder as well, his sights are set on joining Mikel Arteta’s side.

Now, the Celta Vigo present has openly suggested that Arsenal have a strong chance of completing a transfer for Gabri Veiga.

Celta Vigo president admits Arsenal could complete Gabri Veiga transfer

The 20-year-old is indeed having a campaign to remember, registering 9 goals and 3 assists in the La Liga so far, with his manager Carlos Carvahal praising his ‘talent’ via AS a couple of days ago.

Arsenal fans should certainly be excited as Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino has admitted that despite the club not having any desire to initiate a transfer for Gabri Veiga, they have accepted their fate.

“We do not want to sell Gabri Veiga but he will be bought from us. And there, we cannot do anything. We know some of their offers and it is impossible to get there. Gabri is a Celta player, he has that feeling.”

“There are several teams behind Gabri. Real Madrid? They haven’t asked us, we don’t know if they will have called the player.”

“For us, and to make it clear, he is not for sale. We have nothing to negotiate with anyone. We refer to the clause. From the top 10 in the Premier League, four have asked about him. The decision is Gabri’s, he will play wherever he wants”, he told Mundo Deportivo.

Considering Arsenal have a claim to be the best team in Europe currently, Gabri Veiga could certainly be tempted into a transfer after what the Celta Vigo president said.
