Tony Adams has stated that Gabriel Martinelli was ‘on fire’ during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Arsenal legend stated that Gabriel Martinelli ‘walked past’ Trent Alexander-Arnold after just the opening 60 seconds of the game.
It was a fiery encounter on Merseyside, with Alexander-Arnold involved in the thick of the action, and Arsenal’s second goal, came from his side, when he failed to stop Martinelli’s cross which was headed in by Gabriel Jesus.

But before that could unfold, including a number of heated yellow cards during the game, it was the tricky Brazilian on the left who got the ball rolling.
Rushing through the middle, he fed off some quick play involving the likes of Bukayo Saka, before his quick feet were too hot to handle for Liverpool’s backline and he poked home the opener.
Tony Adams loved what he saw from the 21-year-old and how he was just toying with Trent Alexander-Arnold after just ’60 seconds’, as he told Premier League Productions (09/04/23 at 5:25 pm).

“First 60 seconds, we predicted this, Martinelli is one-on-one with Trent and he walks past him,” said Adams. “Arsenal started very brightly – Martinelli was absolutely on fire here.”

MARTINELLI SHINES
During the reverse fixture at the Emirates, Martinelli stood out and caused Liverpool problems that day.
Well, this time around, in the cauldron of Anfield, he took it up a few levels and probably produced one of his best displays, from start to finish.
Martinelli’s ability to take the ball in brave and hostile situations was out of this world and he deserved a lot more from the match.
