Tim Sherwood has hailed Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard as ‘wonderful’ signings for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal after their 4-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus netted a brace for his table-topping Arsenal, whilst Leandro Trossard provided the returning striker with an assist for his second goal against relegation-threatened Leeds.
After being brought back into action before the international break, this was Jesus’ first start in the Premier League since before the World Cup.

The Brazil international didn’t disappoint because he converted his spot-kick, before adding his second after the break, with Ben White and Granit Xhaka also getting on the scoresheet.
Other than failing to keep a clean sheet, it was the near-perfect afternoon for the Gunners because they maintained their eight-point lead on Manchester City in the table.
What’s even better is that Arteta now has some big calls to make in attack and plenty of options to pick from, with Tim Sherwood a big fan of Jesus and Trossard, as he told MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions (01/04/23 at 8:15 pm).
“Fantastic penalty,” said Sherwood. “Nice cool head. Saka is off the pitch because he was ill, he came on late in the game.

“Leandro Trossard, what a signing he has been. He has hit the floor running. He knows everything about the Premier League. He sticks it into a dangerous area and Jesus continues with his run. And he will never miss a chance like that (second goal).
“Jesus has been a wonderful signing for them. He shows a wonderful attitude. He has been out for a while, comes back and he looks so trim. He looks ready. Not being sulking, but in the gym working hard and getting fit again.”

TROSSARD’S IMPACT
That’s an incredible seven assists for Trossard following his January transfer from Brighton.
The Belgium international joined during a delicate time of the season when he needed to hit the ground running and prove his worth.
Well, he is perhaps punching above expectation and doing it all in style – as he proved with his record-breaking hat-trick of assists against Fulham before the international break.
