Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has been tipped to make Ronald Koeman’s first Netherlands squad back in charge ahead of the international break later this month.
Writing in Algemeen Dagblad, pundit Willem van Hanegem lauded that the 21-year-old Premier League winger offers something the current Dutch team are lacking in the senior squad, with Summerville enjoying a fantastic breakout season with Leeds.
Van Hanegem said when talking about why Summerville should be named in Koeman’s Netherlands’ squad for later this month: “He’s gotten so much better there at Leeds United and he has something that isn’t really in the squad yet: speed, agility, the ability to play a man out.”
Lauded as ‘unbelievable’ by Tim Sherwood, Summerville has been one of Leeds’ best players this season, with the attacker bagging four goals and an assist in the Premier League, an impressive return despite the Whites’ poor fortunes in the division and domestic competitions.

Indeed, whilst Summerville hasn’t scored for Leeds this year, the versatile forward has remained a constant fixture in the starting XI, and pundits in his native homeland of Holland are now keen for the youngster to be named in Koeman’s first Netherlands squad since returning to the position as manager.

With the Netherlands coming up short at the 2022 FIFA World Cup to eventual winners Argentina, this upcoming international break will be an interesting one for many of Europe’s biggest nations, looking to experiment ahead of the Euros next year, and Summerville could be ideal for Holland.
Summerville has more than justified senior Netherlands call-up

Summerville’s potential is evident to see, with the winger impressing greatly for Leeds this season and rightly getting the recognition he deserves from both English and Dutch pundits, and Koeman could be smart in calling up the 21-year-old for the Netherlands’ fixtures this month.
Few players in Holland’s current pool offer what Summerville can provide in attack, and the winger training and interacting with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay could be huge for the youngster’s development and progress in becoming a full international.
