GOOD Time actor Buddy Duress is dead at 38.
Buddy’s death was confirmed by both his brother Christopher and his colleague and friend Jay Karales to The U.S. Sun.
Christopher said that Buddy – who also goes by Mike – quietly died in November 2023 just before Thanksgiving.
Jay posted a tribute to the movie star on X, formerly Twitter.
“This man was an absolute treasure. Without a doubt, Buddy Duress was one of the most entertaining people I’ve ever met and his stories were unrivaled,” he wrote.
“I remember seeing him in Good Time in 2017 and saying, ‘That is what the future of acting needs to be. That guy,'” he continued.
“He brought a certain authenticity and charisma to the screen that you just don’t see anymore,” Jay gushed.
“It was a dream to get him in Mass State Lottery, and I feel privileged to have been his director and his friend,” he continued.
TROUBLED PAST
Buddy starred in Good Time alongside Robert Pattinson and PVT Chat beside Julia Fox.
The actor’s career was blossoming when he faced legal issues in in summer 2019.
He spent time in a Rikers Island jail where he was reportedly sent on charges of grand larceny in the third degree, according to the New York Post.
The outlet reported he was sent there 10 times on charges ranging from heroin possession to identity theft.
He was also there when his mother turned him in to the police for allegedly stealing checks and forging her signature for $3,000 – which was all back in 2019.
‘THIS IS CRAZY’
Buddy’s fans took to Reddit and social media to share their condolences.
“Man he was my favorite part in Good Time. May he rest in peace,” one person wrote in a fan forum.
“This is crazy. He’s a good actor. What a shame. May he rest in peace,” a second mourned.
“He would’ve gone so far man. Rest in Peace,” wrote a third.
“Rest in peace, he was great in Good Time and in PVT Chat as well. Very sad,” another said.
