The Gonzaga Bulldogs are into the Elite Eight where they take on UConn. Drew Timme has been the star of the Zags over the past few years, and was instrumental in guiding them past the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament.
Timme scored a game-high 36 points and 13 rebounds to lead his side past UCLA on Thursday to punch the Bulldogs’ tickets into March Madness’ last eight.
Timme became the first player in NCAA history to score 20 or more points in ten different March Madness games as the Zags came away with a 79-76 victory.

The 6 ft10 in, 235 pound power forward is one of the most recognizable players in college basketball, thanks to his signature moustache and beard combo.
Whenever he plays there are usually people online joking that he is 40+ years old and still playing college basketball. But how old is Drew Timme? He’s actually younger than most people think. He’s 22 years of age having been born on 9 September 2000.
However, he seems older than that to many fans due to his many appearances in the NCAA Tournament over the years.

Many fans watching March Madness this year have been asking does Drew Timme have another year of eligibility.
Interestingly enough, he does indeed have one more year of college eligibility due to covid-19 interrupting his freshman season which forced the cancellation of March Madness in 2020. However, it appears the true senior does not plan on exercising it.
He recently told Seth Davis of The Athletic that he will leave the Bulldogs after 2023.
“I’ve done my four years,” Timme said. “I’m a senior, and I’m moving on.”
He has had a storied four years with the Zags
Whatever Timme goes on to do it’s undeniable that he’s one of the greatest and most decorated Bulldog ever. During his four years with the Zags he averaged 17 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists across 127 games.
The Bulldogs have been ranked No.2 or higher in all of those four seasons and Timme led them to one NCAA final appearance in 2021. He is Gonzaga’s all-time leading scorer and is a two-time second-team All-American, two-time WCC Player of the Year and a three-time All-WCC first-team.
