GOLDEN Globes host Nikki Glaser is gearing up for the iconic awards ceremony as she prepares to host and roast – but there’s one A-lister she won’t make jokes about.
Nikki, 40, has hinted that her Golden Globes stint and opening monologue will be far from political, with her set to swerve any It End With Us drama.
The comedian, who hails from Ohio, famously hosted the television series Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, and stars in Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?.
“I am doing what I was hired to do, which is, I got this because of the Tom Brady roast. That is not lost on me,” Nikki revealed this week while chatting to Yahoo! Entertainment.
While speaking to the outlet at a Golden Globes event this week, she added: “So I’m going to bring that to this for sure. It’s not gonna be watered down, [but] the tone will be different for this.
“I’m not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended,” she affirmed, before saying how she doesn’t want to disappoint anyone.
“I’m not Ricky Gervais,” she added, noting, “This isn’t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one.
“He really went hard on his last one. He was ready to burn some bridges [because] it didn’t matter anymore.”
Nikki was asked if anything would be “off limits” for her hosting and roasting stint at the Golden Globes, to which she defiantly shut down.
“I think the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button thing right now that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be,” she said.
‘I’M MAD I EVEN KNOW HIS NAME’
“I also don’t want to give his name any — I’m mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don’t need to say it anymore,” Nikki concluded on the matter.
It Ends With Us – the hit movie based on the novel by Colleen Hoover – is embroiled in drama.
The leading lady of the flick, Blake, 37, issued a lawsuit for sexual harassment, claiming her co-star Justin Baldoni’s actions caused “severe emotional distress” and amounted to a smear campaign to “destroy” her reputation.
Justin, who previously starred in the 2018 movie Con Man and TV series Jane The Virgin, denied all the allegations – stating they were “serious and categorically false.”
STEERING CLEAR OF POLITICS
As for whether Nikki will get political when hosting the Golden Globes next week, she explained to the outlet that people are “tired” of hearing about politics, which implied she would not be touching upon it in the slightest.
Nikki also went on to say that she thinks celebrities “shouldn’t be nervous” because it’s a “great opportunity for them to look cool” when some people in the general public feel “disconnected” from celebs.

However, she did add: “I know it sucks sometimes. I’ve been on the receiving end of jokes at roasts and I’ve had to laugh through my tears of being hurt.
“I’m not going to call you an ugly horseface woman, though, which is what I’ve had to laugh through.”
RELEVANT JOKES INCOMING
But she will be cracking plenty of relevant jokes like this gem: “I did have a bunch of Ozempic jokes that I was gonna tell, but I lost them. The natural way, I swear! I just cut out soda,” as per CBS.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reports that while preparing for her Golden Globes stint, Nikki went through her set at a quick pace where she cracked jokes about Wicked and Joker 2.
“Wicked proved that we love musicals about the origin story of a villain who wears a lot of makeup. Joker 2 proved that we also hate those same types of musicals,” she said, according to the outlet.
And a joke about Ozempic was better than the response it received, she insisted.
The Golden Globe Awards will take place this Sunday, Jan 5. The ceremony will kick off at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and streaming live on Paramount+.
