‘Get a good amount of money to spend’: Liverpool told 24-year-old wants permanent exit

Jose Enrique has stated on Instagram that Caoimhin Kelleher wants to leave Liverpool for good and not on a loan deal.

The former left-back added that he can understand why Kelleher wants to leave because he is playing behind the number one, Alisson Becker.

Last season, the Republic of Ireland international was the star of the show as the Reds won two domestic trophies.

But he has only managed three games this season, which isn’t helped by the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s men were knocked out of their domestic trophies early.

It needs to be noted that Kelleher has a contract at Liverpool until 2026, so from that perspective, they can get a healthy fee for him.

And Enrique, as he posted in the comments section of his IG post, wants Liverpool to get a ‘good amount of money to spend’ for the goalkeeper.

“He will not want a loan,” said Enrique. “He will want to go and play. I understand him, to be honest.

“So, hopefully, he gets a good move and we get a good amount of money to spend.”

LIVERPOOL CLEAR OUT

Under Klopp, Liverpool haven’t been known to make wholesale changes, but this summer could be different.

In recent years, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum are just some of the players who left for nothing. And the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita could follow suit in a few months.

And whilst Kelleher will be one of the more low-profile exits at Anfield in the summer, it will be interesting to see who follows him out because many are under fire.
