Gary Neville has stated that he would ‘hate’ to play against a player like Bukayo Saka as Arsenal and Liverpool played out a thunderous 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal opened the scoring through Gabriel Martinelli and Gary Neville thinks Bukayo Saka’s role in that was ‘absolutely brilliant’.
In typical Arsenal fashion, the forward players rushed onto Liverpool’s struggling backline inside ten minutes like a hungry pack of wolves, with Martinelli providing the deft of touches to put the ball past the on-rushing Alisson Becker.

Arteta has previously alluded to it, but this was an aggressive and cagey affair on Merseyside, from start to finish.
After Martinelli’s opener, Gabriel Jesus doubled his side’s lead, before Mohamed Salah pulled a goal back before the break and then missed a penalty in the second half. Roberto Firmino, from the bench, then levelled the scores late in the second half in what turned out to be a Premier League classic…AGAIN, from these two sides.
Nonetheless, this is what Gary Neville had to say about Saka during the game, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (09/04/23).

“That first little movement from Bukayo Saka is absolutely brilliant,” said Neville. “I would hate that as a fullback. Then, you are talking about whether one of those Arsenal players can finish, then he (Martinelli) pokes it past the on-rushing, Allison.”

SENSATIONAL FOOTBALL MATCH
This will go down as an all-time English classic. Liverpool aren’t in the Premier League title race, but this was an outrageous game of football.
In the end, the points were shared, and you would argue that it was a fair result.
But Liverpool will be thinking just how on earth they didn’t win the game right at the death because Aaron Ramsdale pulled off some quite remarkable saves.
