FLEETWOOD Mac fans are convinced that legendary lovers Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are ‘getting back together’ after spotting a series of ‘clues.’
The reconciliation would come decades after the ex-couple formed one of the most iconic relationships in music history – and later one of the messiest public breakups ever.
Though it’s been years since Stevie, 77, and Lindsey, 75, were last together romantically, they’ve always maintained a magnetic connection – even during his long-term marriage.
Lindsey married Kristen Messner in 2000 after they met on a photoshoot four years prior.
When they announced their separation in 2021, fans immediately jumped to hoping that the Buckingham Nicks pair would rekindle.
Although their divorce does not appear to be finalized yet, despite Kristen filing more than four years ago, it looks like fans may be closer to getting their wish of Stevie and Lindsey getting back together.
LANDSLIDE OF CLUES
After never following each other for years on social media, both Stevie and Lindsey recently followed one another on Instagram.
While the move may seem like a small gesture, fans took the glimmer of hope as a sign the scathed lovers had at the very least buried the hatchet of their messy history.
Sparks of a reconciliation only continued to fuel when Fleetwood Mac founder, Mick Fleetwood, shared an Instagram video on Wednesday, seemingly out of the blue, of him listening to Frozen Love.
Mick, 78, was perched outside in his backyard as the headphones played the classic Buckingham Nicks song from 1973 – the year before the duo officially joined Fleetwood Mac.
“Magic then, magic now,” the drummer captioned the post – which Lindsey and Stevie both liked.
His words he chose to use in the video also sparked a strong reaction from fans, as Mick discussed the “marriage” of his two bandmates.
“The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the marriage of them coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did.
“It’s all in this song. It’s in the music that played on for so many years. It was magic then and it’s magic now. What a thrill,” he gushed in the video.
On Thursday, Stevie and Lindsey once again fueled rumors that they were getting back together, either musically or romantically, when they both tweeted lyrics to their single, Frozen Love.
FUELING RUMOURS
In the morning, Stevie posted a picture with her cursive handwriting that said “And if you go forward…”
Just 30 minutes later, Lindsey shared a post of his own that completed the lyric, which read: “… I’ll meet you there.”
Fans have taken the amount of interactions, which come after decades of on-again-off-again drama, as “overwhelming” evidence they’re back together romantically.
One fan insisted: “Yeah I’ve been watching them go back and forth together recently and they are 100% together. And I am in tears about it every day.”
“OH MY GOD my parents are back together!!!! A love story for the ages,” another wrote.
“Situationships are NEVER really over. I wholeheartedly believe they are soulmates and have always been in love,” a hopeful insisted.
“Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks working it out at their age…oh you can never get away from the sound of the woman who loves you,” one more quipped – referring to the iconic Silver Springs lyric.
While others presume the recent events mean they have rekindled in strictly a professional manner: “Buckingham Nicks reunion tour 2026??? Has to be.”
Another replied: “When I drain my bank account for the upcoming inevitable Buckingham Nicks reunion tour.”
And many more insisted the singers may be releasing a remastered version of their 1973 album
GO YOUR OWN WAY
Lindsey and Stevie began dating in the late 1960s and went on to form the musical duo, Buckingham Nicks, shortly after.
They joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974 and found instant success with the band – catapulting all five members, including Mick, John McVie, and Christine McVie, into worldwide sensations.
Although they were at the height of their careers and continued to have to work together in the same band, Stevie and Lindsey officially broke up in 1976.
They continued to have more casual reconciliations in the years after – and Stevie even went on to date her other bandmate, Mick, for a brief period of time.
Despite no longer being together, Stevie and Lindsey continued to have unmatched chemistry every time they have been on stage in the years since.
Stevie was married for just three months to Kim Anderson, her friend Robin’s widower, during a time she claimed was “deranged” with “insane grief.”
She has not walked down the aisle since and never had any kids.
Meanwhile, Lindsey found love with wife Kristen in the late 90s and they share three kids together: daughters Leelee, 25, and Stella, 21, along with son William, 27.
Kristen filed for divorce from Lindsey in 2021 however, it doesn’t appear their split has ever been legally finalized.
Just last year, Stevie vowed that she was “officially divorced” and “done” with Lindsey – claiming there was no chance they would get back together.
